Worldwide Holdings Berhad (Worldwide) was incorporated under the Companies Act (1965) on 29 December 1965 as a private limited company and converted to a public company under the name of Tholec Berhad on 15 December 1967. The Company ws subsequently listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 1 April 1968 and assumed its present name in June 1971.


 
WHB's holding company is Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), the economic development arm of the state of Selangor, Malaysia's most dynamic state. The principal activities of WHB are property development and investment, environmental management services and investment holding.


 
In 1971, Worldwide diversified all its estate assets and concentrated on investment activities. In 1976, following the ill-fated investment in overseas properties,. the shareholders' funds of Worldwide were eliminated and its shares were suspended from trading on the then Stock Exchange of Malaysia.


 
In 1989, Worldwide undertook a restructuring exercise with new ownership and relisted on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad under the property sector. In its corporate milestone since the restructuring exercise, Worldwide had involved in diverse activities of property development and investment, timber trading, infrastructure development, television news broadcasting, -solid waste management, overseas investment and investment holding.


 
During the Asian financial crisis, Worldwide undertook a consolidation exercise by divesting its infrastructure project as well as its non-performing assets and investment. Entering the millennium, Worldwide has focus business portfolios, concentrating on property. development and investment, environmental management services and investment holding.


 
In 2007, Worldwide underwent a privatization process and was officially delisted from Bursa Malaysia on 18 January 2008. Worldwide is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor held through PKNS-Federal Furniture International (M) Sdn Bhd.


 
Worldwide has an authorized share capital of RM400 million and paid-up capital of RM177 million.Going forward, Worldwide pillar of strength lies on its core businesses of property development and environmental management services. Its years of experience in diversified business activities are a clear indication of its solid standing.
